  3. Then expand the non-finite verbal to a non-finite verbal phrase (gerund, participial, infinitive) that is equivalent in meaning. 
  • EXERCISE 22: Create verbal phrases using the given patterns.
  • EXERCISE 23: Answer any one of the following to create new sentence patterns using verbal phrases.
  • EXERCISE 24: Identify verbal phrases, name their types and state the words they modify.
  • EXERCISE 25: Identify verbal phrases, name their types and functions.
