- I call this a "better way to teach tissues" because if you use these prior to doing actual histology work under the microscope, kids will ACTUALLY know what they are viewing and will have FAR fewer questions for you. This set also works well as a replacement for histology microscope viewing if you doPrice $8.00Original Price $10.00Save $2.00

Description
For 10 years, I had my Anat & Phys kids looking at connective, muscle, & nervous tissues under the microscope. Even though they pointed things out to me and I checked their answers, I suspect that half the time, they were looking at the wrong thing/didn’t really “get” what they were seeing.
Due to COVID and having virtual students (and also minimize touching surfaces), I had to revamp my tissue labs. This is what I came up with- and I plan to use it every single year moving forwards. The amount of retention and accuracy improved in a HUGE way when doing this digitally first/before actually using the microscopes.
This lab requires students to mark things on microscope images and answer questions, and stop at checkpoints along the way to make sure they're doing it correctly. It takes me about 3 class periods (45 minutes each) for my students to finish.
Students answer questions/look at pictures of: adipose, areolar, dense regular & irregular, elastic & hyaline cartilage, bone, blood, all three muscle types, and nervous tissue. See the preview document for an idea of what the Google Slides will look like/what students will be asked to do. Answer key included.
